In late 80s São Paulo, Wagner Ribeiro de Souza known as DJ Patife began to venture with his tapes at garage dances, fairs and birthday parties, influenced by the Sound System and Hip Hop movement, followed by Acid House, Hardcore & Jungle.
In the late 90s he visited London where he met influential people in the music industry, especially in the Drum & Bass scene and in 1999 he started his own
Sunday Radio show on Energy 97.7 in São Paul, working there for 9 years. In 2000 he began producing remixes for artists in Brazil, in partnership with renowned producers XRS & Mad Zoo, including stand out hit Sambassim with singer-songwriter Fernanda Porto. In 2001 he became resident DJ at the Movement nights, at the legendary Bar Rumba on Shaftesbury Avenue in London. where he played for eight years alongside major music icons such as Gilles Peterson, Bryan Gee, JJ Frost, Fabio, Roni Size and Ray Keith. The same year The Brasil EP was released on V Recordings and since then he has crossed the seven seas, playing at clubs and festivals in more than 50 countries.
